Our story begins almost a century ago with Manindra Chandra Podder, an ambitious immigrant from Bangladesh who settled in the vibrant city of Kolkata. With a passion for exquisite textiles, he embarked on a journey to introduce unique sarees to the local retailers, establishing a legacy that would be cherished for generations. Today, that legacy is carried forward by his granddaughter Roop, who has taken it upon herself to weave the rich heritage of Indian sarees into the cultural tapestry of the UK. Through the Roopam Dehi saree collection, she has embarked on a journey to keep her grandfather's legacy alive by bringing India's timeless artistry and craftsmanship to UK retailers, bringing a piece of India's enchanting textile tradition to new audiences, while honouring the family's enduring commitment to quality and culture.
